This standard, jointly issued by the China Packaging Federation and Ele.me, is the first standard specifically targeting the basic requirements of takeout food packaging, filling the standard gap in the takeout food packaging industry. At the same time, Ele.me officially announced a cooperation with Alibaba Cloud, and the two sides will jointly carry out packaging Carbon footprint digital accounting certification around the relevant standards of takeout packaging.

Wang Li, Vice President of China Packaging Federation, stated in his opening speech that the release of this standard will be of great significance in regulating the production, labeling, transportation, and use of takeout packaging. At the same time, the formulation and implementation of this standard can better meet the safety and environmental protection needs of consumers for food packaging, and also have a good guiding role for the food packaging production industry.

In her speech, Fang Ying, Deputy General Manager of Alibaba Local Life Cooperation Development, stated that under the guidance of the China Packaging Federation, Alibaba Local Life has participated in the development of the General Requirements for Takeout Food Packaging. This is a standard belonging to the packaging industry, online catering, and new retail industries, and the first standard specifically targeting the basic requirements of takeout food packaging. The standard covers the safety of packaging in contact with food, the core functionality of whether there is leakage, and the green and environmental attributes, and regulates the production, transportation, procurement, storage, and use of takeout packaging.

Taking the issue of food spillage, which is the most troublesome issue for consumers and delivery riders, Fang Ying shares with everyone that the standard not only requires food packaging to be sealed to avoid food spillage affecting consumption, but also provides detailed guidance on the sealing performance inspection methods of food packaging. For example, adding water preheated to 40 ℃ to the sample, tightening or sealing according to actual usage, and packaging, then dropping the bag fall from a height of 0.8m to the ground without carpet, opening the bag and observing whether water leaks.
As a representative of the drafting unit, the Guangzhou Customs Laboratory interpreted the group standard General Requirements for Packaging of Takeout Food.
Chen Sheng, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Customs Laboratory, stated that the formulation of this standard fills the gaps in the standards for packaging operations of takeout food, and has important guiding significance for the production of takeout food packaging materials in the takeaway industry and for catering enterprises to do a good job in packaging takeout food. At the same time, the formulation of this standard fully considers the characteristics of "takeout food packaging", stipulates technical indicators from the aspects of food safety, environmental protection, use, etc., and reflects scientific, progressiveness and applicability.

The green development of packaging is not only the need to reduce pollution and carbon, but also one of the directions of upgrading the industrial chain. On the basis of this standard, Ele.me and Alibaba Cloud will carry out quantitative calculation, third-party certification, application promotion and other cooperation around green low-carbon packaging by means of science and technology with the help of the power of the Energy Treasure project.
Zhou Fanke, Alibaba Cloud Energy Expert, said that businesses are recommended to use recycling and biodegradable materials as raw materials for the production of takeout food packaging, and encourage takeout food packaging to reduce its volume on the premise of ensuring the use performance requirements.
